Rug Hooking
In 2010 I took a course in rug hooking, I enjoyed it so much that I’ve attended several workshops and joined a few local rug hooking groups. I belong to the Nicholsville Rug Rats, Berwick Rags to Riches, Fundy Group Hookers and Nova Scotia Rug Hooking Guild.
I’ve created over 50 rugs including wall hangings. I dye my own wool but I also purchase some from local providers, I have designed a few patterns but I mostly buy commercial patterns. It can take 2 to 3 months to finish one project, I am critical and sometimes will rip some of it out or decide to change the colour of some area. Eventually, I am able to achieve the look I want. The Thanksgiving rug below is called "Harvest Fair" is 34"x38" and was displayed at the Historic Saunder Village in Archbold, Ohio in Aug 2014. It is also in the Rug Hooking Celebration Magazine XXIV. Some rugs are for sale please contact for pricing. |
